Erika
She comes to ReVillage having had 8+ years of teaching, supporting, and supervising experience in childcare settings of ages 0-5 years. Erika moved to Bend from the Portland area in need of more sunshine and outdoor adventures! She advocates for a classroom of play seeing how it can be a melding of so many different modes of teaching and learning. “It allows children and teachers to be creative and flexible in their thinking and play.” As a teacher, Erika’s biggest gifts were classroom management and creative art activities. Now, as a supervisor, her gifts ensure a smooth classroom routine/flow is happening and gives children, and teachers a creative opportunity each day to express themselves. In her spare time Erika likes to play and adventure with her two border collies and husband. She also loves working on various house projects and has become a big plant lover!

Joslyn
Joslyn is one of the co-founders of ReVillage and currently acts as the ReVillage Co-Op Developer helping families become teacher aides in the classroom while supporting families, teachers and staff with child development and advocating for play! Joslyn taught in a public school setting (2nd grade - 8th grade) for 6 years in Arizona and Central Oregon, and most recently was a Reading Intervention Specialist specializing in Dyslexia for Jefferson County. Joslyn grew up in Northern Arizona and has lived in Bend for almost 8 years which she guesses is only 2 years away from being a local. After her son was born, she wanted to join the movement to change the way we do childcare in Central Oregon. Joslyn is a huge advocate for play and believes that through play, real learning takes place. “We as adults develop childhood amnesia and forget how mud feels on our toes!” - Bev Bos. When Joslyn isn’t making messes for the teachers in the classroom, she is running, hiking, exploring Oregon or making messes at home with her family.

McKenzzi
Kenzzi is a born and raised Bendite who has been working with children for over 7 years. She got her start in the field of Early Childhood Education by teaching piano and ukulele and began working in preschools in January 2020! McKenzzi believes that play-based education makes learning meaningful and creates a strong foundation for children to build a life-long passion for learning. She loves providing opportunities for children to explore their curiosities, bringing music and silliness to the classroom, and providing a calm energy for the children. In her spare time, Kenzzi loves to practice yoga, spend time with family and friends, play piano, and practice self care!

Summer
Summer is a lead facilitator at ReVillage. She has worked with children in various childcare settings ranging from play-based to fully structured for about ten years now. Summers was born and raised in Central Oregon but spent the last six years experiencing different cultures and lifestyles traveling as a military spouse. She and her husband recently decided to leave military life and move back home to settle down as their family expands! Summer has a passion for working with children and believes play-based learning is a way to allow them to discover the world in an exciting and individualized way. Shebrings such value to the classroom by combining her experience in working with so many different family styles and her keen motherly instincts to create a warm, safe, and inviting environment. Outside of the classroom, Summer enjoys spending quality time with her family, preparing for her little one to arrive, and creating new memories with her daughter!
